PEG Somalia

The USAID Partnership for Economic Growth (PEG) Program assisted the Southwest State of Somalia (SWSS) with increasing domestic stability through inclusive economic growth by improving food availability for consumers, increasing local farmers’ incomes, and increasing local employment within Somalia’s domestic crop and livestock value chains. IBTCI was tasked with evaluating the extent to which PEG accomplished its outlined objectives in Somalia, strengths and limitations of the implementation model, and gender-inclusivity of outcomes, particularly if women were equal beneficiaries of program outputs. IBTCI gathered quantitative data via field-assessments and surveys of local populations, as well as qualitative information through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and interviews conducted within the Afgoi, Awdeghle, Balad, and Banadir districts.
